We opened our store, Biker Rags, in November 1994.

Jeff and I opened our store, Biker Rags, in November 1994. We just celebrated our twenty year anniversary.

Of course, we had a huge celebration this past weekend! On Saturday, we had FREE GIVEAWAY SATURDAY where we gave out Biker Rags stash, gift certificates, and coupons. We also served free pizza. Our guests ate thirty large pizzas in about an hour! Everyone sure seemed to have a great time and we were honored to have you all at our big Saturday party.

Then on Sunday, November 9th, we continued the celebration with a HUGE block party. We had a motorcycle swap meet and bike show plus a hot rod swap meet and car show. Barillaro Speed Emporium, Gene’s Hot Rods, and Willis Cycle Works all opened up their doors on a Sunday to help us celebrate! We’ve decided we need to change the name of the Biker Rags shopping center to Gear Head Park. Wouldn’t that be cool?

Anyway, it’s late Sunday night as I prepare this blog post and I’m worn out from a weekend full of people and fun. So instead of rambling on I’ll post some photos from the day. Thanks again to everyone who joined in our twenty year celebration! It is because of all of you, our customers, that we’ve been able to have our business these past two decades. Without further ado, here are the photos. Enjoy!

Thanks Chris!! We should have another twenty in us…. Unless I can figure out a way to make a living drawing comics. (Is that the echo of laughter I hear?) πŸ˜‰

      • chrisrenney says:

No, not the echo of laughter as you should be able to make a living with your comics – perhaps you should look at animation for Pamo’s World. Would be EXCELLENT! We are off to an animation festival next week plus Mark found a one day photography tutorial at the local photographic gallery in Bradford, where we are headed, so I will be mingling with professionals – AAAGGGGH. Take care beautiful gal xxxx

Congratulations on the twenty years. That’s wonderful. I bet the celebration was wonderful. If I lived in your area, maybe even this introvert would’ve been tempted to stop by. Which is saying A LOT. Seeing you in your element would be fun, and the free pizza would’ve sealed the deal. πŸ˜‰

“20yrs of suffering” is closer to the truth some days than I’d like to admit! Ha!
I thought of you yesterday… you would have loved photographing everything and I’m positive you would have done a fabulous job of it!
I want Jeff’s pink glasses but he won’t give them up.
Thanks Frag! Have a great week!

Congrats on your business success. Some married folk couldn’t work and live together day in and day out. I know this isn’t the same but I worked for my step-dad when I was in high school and he just about drove me and my sister to drink. And she was in 5th grade.

I like Speedy’s vehicle and all.

You always crack me up Totsy!
Working together and being married isn’t for everyone. We had a few years there where it was pretty stressful. But I think most anyone in a long term relationship could say the very same.

It’s been worth every day of it! I wouldn’t change a thing.
(I’ve got you some dialogue written… just gotta email it to you. πŸ˜‰ )

  14. …congrats on the 20…any time off for good behaviour??…
…(and what the hell is that “salmon” resto’ coupe on the trailer…the one one with the spare on the trunk lid….can’t place the shape…)….

No time off for good behavior. And no time off for bad behavior either. Jeff refuses to let me go and there’s no way I’m letting him out of the shop. πŸ™‚

Onlookers guessed that the front was from a Cadillac and the rear from an Auburn boat tail. The owner wasn’t around when we were there and they drove off before the mystery was solved!

  15. Binky says:

Congratulations on 20 years! It sounds like and looks like you had a great time.

And I’m with Tootonesbored above, what is that car? Maybe a late 40’s modified Lincoln or something?

Whoa—that’s quite a milestone! And you were serving free pizzas and I wasn’t invited? Granted, there’s no way I could’ve made it, but you could at least send me a virtual pizza or something! In any case, I’m barely surprised free pizzas were eaten that fast…everyone loves pizza…and free stuff.

Congrats on the anniversary. Here’s to decades more of Biker Rags goodness!

What on earth is that 1st bike with the huge 4 exhaust pipes coming out the side.
Was also wondering if you saw my Harley Dreams comics there’s 3 strips in the series

    • Pam Huggins says:

That bike is a vintage Honda Goldwing! He’s redone about everything.
Loved your three part Harley series. So funny and true too.

      • Tony McGurk says:

A Goldwing??? Good grief I never would’ve gone close to guessing that. I think Goldwing lovers would be horrified at what he’s done to it ha ha!!!

      • Tony McGurk says:

I saw a GL1000 Goldwing in mint condition for sale here in Launceston a couple of weeks ago (Like that one in the picture before they covered them with all the touring gear) for $5,500. Don’t have enough spare cash & the wife saod NO. She is one of those people who has the “Motorbikes are dangerous” way of thinking. She’s not overly keen on me even having the motorscooter. She reasons the bigger the bike the more dangerous they are. I’ll never win that arguement so there’s no point tryin’ πŸ˜›
